A growing population to help drive our economy 

High quality new housing is a key theme of our ambitions. For the first time a new town centre residential community will strengthen housing choice whilst driving spending power into the town centre. 

New affordable homes adjacent to Yewdale will be one of the first schemes to emerge. There’ll be affordable homes, shared ownership and aspirational private housing, providing a ladder that encourages people to stay in the area, whilst helping attract new residents. 

The integrated Masterplan is also key to our ambitions to bring a railway station to Skelmersdale and the town centre.
